Papenoo Valley, Tahiti

Our first waterfall turned out to be made of "chocolate" due to
a landslide on the upper slopes during the night.

The water tumbling down the cliff was headed for this river which can be
a raging torrent during and following rain storms.

We were surprised to see lantana growing along the river bank.

We were not so surprised to see this diet staple growing here
on one of the islands of the ancient Polynesians.
