An Artist's Conception of the Forum
Arch of Septimium Severus and his sons, Geta and Caracalla
Erected in AD 203, the arch celebrates a successful campaign in the Middle East. Eight years later when Caracalla had his brother killed, all mention of Geta was removed from the inscription. The reliefs show phases of the campaigns and barbarian captives.
