Santa Maria della Salute Church lies in the background across the basin. A little repair work going on this bridge. They go and they come, like the Easter parade, all have a ride on the Grand Canal. I wonder if those who hire their gondolas in the more obscure corners, in the central part of the island, get better rates than those who hire them on the Grand Canal or at San Marco.
