Port Stanley
Falkland Islands
Day 10: Sunday, January 13, 2002
At 7:38 AM we load the tender for the ride to shore.
The tenders are actually four of the lifeboats that are equiped with twin engines. They are covered (as are all the lifeboats on modern cruise ships) and quite comfortable.

Stanley Hotel in the Rain
The ride to shore didn't take long. We dutifully wiped our feet on the anti-bacterial mats as we landed at the pier, then scurried through the rain to the waiting bus. Then we were off on the city tour. Most of these pictures were taken from the bus window.
House and Garden
The Kelpers (Falkland Islanders) were happy to receive this rain. The lawn in the picture above testifies to the dry conditions they have been experiencing in Stanley this summer.
