Lahaina, Island of Maui, Hawaii Trip Day Ten: Monday, October 1, 2007 Road To Lahaina From Maalaea Bay at the Isthmus Honoapiilani Highway Lanai is just off shore. The Maui Ocean Center is a 45 minute drive from Lahaina. That may be a bit more road time than people in Lahaina for only one day would want to spend if they knew that in advance.

3:11 PM ~ We're back in the tender on the way back to the Sun Princess with a few minutes to spare. We are scheduled to sail for Bora Bora at 4:00 PM. It's All Aboard at 3:30. The boats that serve as tenders also would serve as life boats if such an emergency were to occur. Life boats have been enclosed for many, many years. So few cruise passengers would have to face Titanic style open boats in the event of a sea disaster.
