Port at Fontveille, another section of Monaco
The mesa known as the rock is really a small peninsula.
Like the main port, this area is protected from the open sea by jetties.
We could have stood in the same place ten days apart to get these two pictures, one of the water below, and the other focused on the city and the distant hill.
The crowd has no fear of these cannons as they view the city below.
