Fattoria Villa Maionchi
Day 15: Monday, April 25, 2005

An association was formed in 1992 to protect the private villa estates or 'fattoria' that surround the historic town of Lucca.
Once owned by the rich merchants of this beautiful walled city, these estates seemed doomed to slow decay. By creating economic viability through farming and the sale of high quality farm products, including wines and the world renown Lucchesia olive oil, the time honoured role of the Lucca Villa has been rescued. Most importantly, a culture of hospitality is a common denominator of all the association's members.

It's 3:01 PM and we have one more stop this afternoon.
It was a mellow and happy group that boarded the bus after this stop.
