Paine is pronounced piney, locally.
Like the piney woods.

Two sentinels guard hanging U-shaped valley.

12:18 PM: We stop at another beautiful glacial lake.

Moraines

These moraines were pushed up by the advancing glacier. When it retreated they were left in place to dam the water for this lake.
