The Terrace of Lions.
| Delos was the commercial and religious center of the Aegean in its hayday. And it was the custom of the day for cities and wealthy individuals to contribute gifts to these religious centers. The Terrace of Lions was such a gift. Likewise, was the gift commemorated by the statues in the private home illustrated on page 5 of this section. |
