Horse Guards Through the Opera Window Whitehall Palace
Guarded by mounted soldiers, the Horse Guards is the home of the Troopers of the Household Cavalry. We missed the 11am daily Changing of the Guard ceremony, but the crowd remains. The ceremony is similar to the pomp of the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, although not as grand, but is very popular among tourists to London.
Standing on the site of Henry VIII's tournament ground or 'tiltyard',
Horse Guards originally was the main entrance to Buckingham Palace, and royal processions travelling through Whitehall still pass under the arches of the building.

Kylie's Showgirl was showing during the time we visited london. Her next venu was to be the Sydney Superdome where we saw the opening and closing shows of the Olympics in 2000.
