Tour Day 21: Friday, May 11, 2001
Repulse Bay, Hong Kong Island
They practiced fung shauy when they built this large complex. They had to leave a hole so the spirit of the mountain could get to the water.
This is the spiritual practice of arranging buildings so that they will be favored by the spirits. Fung Shauy is practiced by many cultures, mostly in Asia. The early Hawaiians practiced it too. Excuse the spelling of the spiritual practice for locating building elements. I've never seen it written, so spelled it phonetically as best I could.
The next Hong Kong Island pictures are of Charter Garden.
