Chilean Fjords
Day 18: Monday, January 21, 2002
It's 10 AM, and we're likely somewhere on Paso del Mar or Canal Smythe.
Last night, sometime after leaving Punta Arenas on Magellan Strait, we passed by the southernmost point of the South American continent. While Cape Horn is considered the tip of the continent, it is an island a considerable distance south of the mainland.

Looking sternward, O'Brien caught the clouds approaching from the south.
11:45 AM: Strings of Knobby Islets
Mist and Fog Describe The Weather.
The mountain peaks aren't particularily high, but many are capped with snow.
1:28 PM: Looking Back, We See Our Trail.
These protected waters are very placid.
